Desert Wolves Motorcycle Club, was established in 2003 with five members and now boasts with a 30-strong component, comprised of both male and female riders, young and old riders from all walks of life.
As part of their social responsibility initiative they are embarking on a charitable drive to raise funds for the under privileged in our society. The main objective of the Poer-Poer Run scheduled 17 – 25 October 2008 is to raise some N$ 250 000 for the Desert Wolves Charity Fund. These funds will be allocated to organisations such as old age homes, children’s home’s and the Liver Transplant initiative in Namibia.
The aim of the fund raiser is to travel from Windhoek to Cape Town and back on scooters – Yamaha Pasola 100CC Scooters. By taking on this task they are hoping to invoke not only the corporate industries but also the nation to donate towards this worthy cause.
Various sponsorship opportunities are available for corporate, businesses and individuals.
We at Kudu FM are obliged to keep you updated on their journey towards Cape Town and their ultimate goal of N$ 250 000.

And so the time arrived for the Kudu FM team to leave for the Solitaire Dessert Festival.
More beautiful scenery than this you can not ask to see anywhere else in Namibia. On our four hour journey to Solitaire we were greeted by these lovely views of the mountains. Cape Town weather at it's best even though we are far from this glorious South African city. Fog hung like big billowy blankets over the mountains and a slight rain here and there greeted us on the dusty road of the Remhoogte Pas. Just before 6 'o clock in the evening we finally arrived at our destination. The accommodation was fabulous with our tented rooms and we slept well and warm despite sub zero temperatures.
The next morning we got up early and the rising sun was so beautiful. We prepared for the days broadcast and were complimented on the excellent music.
At 3 'o clock it was time for one of the three bands to show off their musical talent. Koos van Zyl and his Slapstick band had the people on their feet in no time, even this early in the day. Later it was time for Pyplyn who also enticed the crowd with hits from the 80 'ties, 90 'ties and beyond.
This was truly a very fun and delightful festival. And we would like to thank the management of the Solitaire Dessert Festival for the superb service we received at their lodge and the fabulous time.

Kudu FM will be at the Solitaire Desert Festival on the 4th & 5th of July 2008. It promise to be a great weekend with loads of activities for young and old! There will also be Namibian artist performing.
