Bakpro donates N$10 000 to charity

Kudu FM on Friday became the latest winner of the annual Bakpro Celebrity Bake-Off, and in the process donated N$10 000 to the SOS Children’s Village in Namibia.

Members of the media made up the participating teams, while four primary school pupils acted as official judges. They were Christopher v.d. Mayer (St. Paul's), Carlie Le Roux (St Paul's), Britney Dos Santos Mouton (Suiderhof) and Marushca Coetzee (Orban). Each team nominated a different Namibian charity, with the winning team’s charity receiving N$10 000 from Bakpro. The theme for this year’s bake-off was health breads and bake-off participants were instructed on the ins and outs of baking health bread by Rodger Daugherty, the Bakery Technical Advisor at Namib Mills.

After receiving their baking instructions, the teams went on to bake a loaf of honeywheat bread and a health bread with a variety of ingredients. The end result was then judged collectively by the four pupils who unanimously voted for:

•    Best Presentation: RadioWave’s Team of Carlichia Pretorius and Anne Fleidl.
•    Most Fun Baker: Energy FM”S Jossy Joss.
